Toast: Heart and Soul Demo

Welcome to the land of the Fridge, in Toast: Heart and Soul!

Toast: Heart and Soul is a turn-based RPG about a slice of toast who has found themself lost in the surreal land of the Fridge. Explore sprawling landscapes and dungeons while finding memorable characters and discovering their stories.

This game is inspired by old school top-down role-playing games where the bulk of the exploration is done in dungeons and in towns where you can discover interesting characters, particularly from games of the game boy era (Pokémon, Final Fantasy Adventure and so on.) I really love the simplicity and charm presented in how exploration worked in those games and wanted to give it a try.

The game features hand drawn characters and maps all in my original design. This is the demo for the game; the entire first part of the game is playable along with some extra areas.

Current gameplay includes: 3 completed dungeons, 3 completed over world areas to explore, multiple side quests, 5 boss battles, tons of weapons and items, and the completed first part of the story. 

Music is made by Abstraction, here on itch. Game is made with RPG maker MZ.
